Teleperformance SE, a global leader in call center operations, has implemented an artificial intelligence system designed to modify the accents of English-speaking Indian call center workers in real time. The goal, according to a Bloomberg report, is to “make them more understandable” to customers.
The company has not disclosed which of its clients are currently using the technology. However, Bloomberg highlights that Teleperformance provides call center and content moderation services to major brands such as Apple, Samsung Electronics, and TikTok.
This AI-driven accent modification initiative reflects a growing trend of leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance customer interactions by reducing perceived language barriers. While the technology aims to improve communication clarity, it also raises discussions around cultural identity and the impact of linguistic adaptation in global customer service industries.
As AI continues to reshape customer service operations, companies are increasingly adopting voice-based AI enhancements to optimize interactions between agents and customers worldwide. Teleperformance’s latest move signals a broader shift toward AI-assisted speech technology in call centers.
