Roblox is stepping into the future of AI-driven 3D modeling with the launch of Cube 3D, its first foundational AI model designed for generating 3D objects. As part of its innovation strategy, Roblox is also open-sourcing the model to enable developers to experiment and enhance their creative workflows.

Roblox explains that just as language models learn to anticipate the next word in a sentence, Cube 3D tokenizes 3D objects and predicts the next shape token to assemble a complete model.
According to Samantha Spielman, a Roblox spokesperson speaking with The Verge, the training data includes a mix of licensed datasets, publicly available 3D assets, and experience data gathered from the Roblox ecosystem.
