Is Microsoft Copilot Subscription Worth It? A Personal Insight

Many of us subscribe to services we rarely use, from streaming platforms to gym memberships. For me, it’s the Microsoft 365 subscription, especially after its recent price increase due to the addition of Copilot+ features. Despite not using all its functionalities, I find value in it.

Microsoft 365 is a suite you might not realize you need until you do. Personally, I’ve found the Read Aloud function in Word invaluable for editing articles, catching errors that might slip through a standard review. Beyond AI, Microsoft 365’s tools are powerful. For instance, I once created a signature in Word using a photo of my handwriting, utilizing features I didn’t even know existed. ✍️

Copilot+ is now a staple in Microsoft’s offerings, with the company heavily promoting its AI capabilities. Yet, in my daily work as a journalist, I often bypass these features, sticking to traditional writing methods. I occasionally use Microsoft Copilot’s web version for its Think Deeper function, but I don’t feel the need for AI in my productivity tools. 🚀

Interestingly, I subscribed to Microsoft 365 to help a family member with college, which didn’t pan out. Keeping the subscription allowed me to explore new features as they launched, though my usage remains limited to a few functions. Now, considering the cost, I’m thinking of switching to a personal plan. 💡

Despite not actively using Copilot+, my Microsoft 365 subscription serves its purpose for me. It’s there when I need it, with AI features as a bonus. The key is finding what works for you and adjusting your subscription accordingly. 🔍
